This seminar is a must for family caregivers and professionals working with individuals with dementia. Local neurologist Dr. Robert Harbaugh will begin the program by providing an update on dementia from a medical perspective and discuss current care strategies. Susan Jorgensen, Program Manager at Friendship Center will follow with an overview of meaningful activities for people with dementia. Marion Schoneberger, PT, MS with Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care will discuss home safety issues in dementia care. Suzanne Hunt, Area Director with the Alzheimer's Association will close with an overview of day-to-day care and challenges, including facilitated discussion with a panel of family caregivers sharing their stories. Lunch will be provided at the Friendship Center. Suggested donation is $5 towards the cost of lunch and materials. CEU's provided.
