Education

Health and Healing are interdependent on knowledge and learning.  Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care is committed to both Professional Education and Community Education.

Classes and seminars are offered on a regular basis for nurses, social workers, physical therapists, and other professionals with the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participation.

We also believe in the power of community education and offer free education events throughout the year.  These include:

Advanced Care Planning
Conversations Before the Crisis and Put it in Writing –

A collaborative program with VNHC, Cottage Hospitaland SBCC Adult Ed

Talking about choices and care around the end of life can be difficult. What do we want? Who will decide for us if we cannot? Having these conversations before a crisis, when there is time for honest discussion and planning is more valuable for you and your family. In the morning session experts, including a physician, an attorney and a nurse will help you learn about your choices and how to share them with your loved ones. In the afternoon session you will have the opportunity to consult with an attorney while completing your own healthcare directive.
