The Santa Barbara Yacht Club hosted a Charity Regatta on Sunday, September 11 to benefit Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care. The community was invited to participate with the purchase of event tickets and raffle tickets. Sponsors and attendees enjoyed a full day of activities, including a powerboat event, a sailboat race, Polynesian dance, a brunch and a barbecue with a live reggae band.  Over $60,000 was raised to benefit VNHC’s hospice care program and Serenity House.

The Mericos Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to support the Community Loan Closet.  The Loan Closet serves over 2,000 local residents a year with the loan of medical equipment  such as crutches, wheelchairs, and walkers.
